Some Like It Hot – 2 stars (average)

At that point, "Some Like It Hot" is a hot ticket, being nominated for six Oscars and successfully. Launched in 1959, this black and white film was also the largest platform of its three main characters comedy, Sugar Kane (Marilyn Monroe), Joe as "Josephine" (Tony Curtis) and Jerry as Daphne (Jack Lemmon). Limon was an actor, Monroe was the sex symbol, and Curtis was the spectator.

The plot has found two down-on-their-luck musicians (Joe and Jerry) Witness the slaughter of Valentine's Day by style Gangland mafia in 1929 during the prohibition era Chicago. Joe and Jerry narrow escape death, then disguise themselves as women to become "Josephine" and "Daphne", and connect with a girl band headed for a concert under the Florida sun.

Complications, when the two discover that Sugar Kane is part of the company. Playboy Curtis falls for Monroe, but must address the role of Josephine and Daphne Lemon must contend with the amorous attentions of Osgood Fielding III (Joe E. Brown), an elderly millionaire. It is made when gangster Spats Colombo (George Raft) and his band appear in the same place for a "convention" of the leaders of the mafia.

Billy Wilder directed this film and pleasure while doing so has also had his patience tested. Apparently, Marilyn Monroe gave a new meaning to the term "dumb blonde". Volume 47 takes in a scene from "It's me, Sugar" correct, after 30 Wilder had the phrase written on a blackboard for her.

After 40 to his saying: "Where's the bourbon?" When Monroe was rummaging through the drawers, Wilder hit the correct line in a drawer. Monroe was not yet clear whether Wilder hit the line in each drawer. It took 59 takes to Monroe to do so. Tony Curtis has stated publicly that Monroe was regularly 2 to 3 hours of delay at all, and sometimes refused to come out of the box.

However, Some Like It Hot has won an Oscar for Best Costumes: Orry-Kelly, and had the Oscar for best actor Jack Lemmon (), Best Art Direction (Ted Haworth and Edward G. Boyle), Best Cinematography (Charles Lang) Best Director (Billy Wilder) and Best Screenplay (Billy Wilder and IAL Diamond), and not even ask about IAL (pseudonym of Romanian origin Itec Domnica as a student at the University of Columbia).

When Orry-Kelly was the measure of the three for the dresses, joked Half of Marilyn Monroe as "Tony Curtis has a nice ass than you. Monroe responded by pulling his shirt open and saying, "Yes, but does not have breasts like that! This was Hollywood in 1959.

Some Like It Hot also has won three Golden Globe Best Picture-Comedy, Best Actor (Jack Lemmon) and Best Actress (Marilyn Monroe). It's a good thing that voters were not on the film set.

The American Film Institute voted Some Like It Hot as the funniest movie of all time. The film is number 14 of the AFI list of 100 films from all the times.

At the end of the movie, Daphne Osgood-informed "their" future millionaire husband will not be able to bear children. "We do not can take, "said Osgood." But you do not understand, Osgood! Daphne responds: "I am a man!" Osgood: "Well, nobody's perfect! "The line" Well, nobody is perfect "has been voted the 48th most famous quotes in film history by AFI.

And the Truth is stranger than fiction category, a man in California found a little black dress in your closet (what is not?) and was surprised when reviewers determined that it was used by Marilyn Monroe in Some Like It Hot "and a value estimated at $ 250,000.

Meanwhile, in Kansas in 1959 (the place made famous by Dorothy and Toto in "The Wizard of Oz") the film has been banned to show in Kansas, because the cross-dressing was "too disturbing for Kansas.

I suspect that some like it hot that may have been one of the first films with high audience to include cross-dressing in the script. How times have changed. Environment In today's liberal, we are exposed to much more frequently.

Personally, I Some Like It Hot "rates as the best comedy ever made. In my book, great movie, that honor goes to "Waking Ned Devine", which has provided great entertainment, and also transmitted me very useful not only relations between individuals, but also a whole village.
